This fab Danish shoe brand has JUST launched in the UK…

…and the rest of this week’s Shoes News

You will LOVE Ivylee’s Scandi chic shoes

I got wind of the imminent arrival of this brand months ago, but have been holding off to tell you about it until you could actually get your hands on a pair. And the Ivylee UK website has just launched, so now is the time! Full disclosure: I was offered a pair of shoes to try back in spring and unfortunately, the ones I picked (top) aren’t available online and haven’t been bought by any UK stockists (which I don’t really understand because LOOK HOW GORGEOUS THEY ARE!). However, there are absolutely loads of other lovely styles to choose from, so don’t despair!

‘Polly’ black croc boots, £149.28; ‘Dea’ jaguar print mules, £167.19; ‘Gilian’ loafers, £214.96; ‘Claudia’ snake sandals, £131.37; all

The mustard ‘Gilian’ loafer (above) is almost identical in shape to the tweed ones I am wearing, and comes in black and taupe as well. They’re a bit snug to get on, but they are really comfy once you are in (if you wear a half size it might be an idea to try sizing up). The quality is really good, too, although I haven’t walked far in them yet because I’m still surgically attached to my Birkenstocks in this heatwave! Ivylee also has a really good selection of boots – if you’re into cowboy boots, you will love the offering here – and there are still plenty of sandals available too. Because when will it not be summer? I really can’t imagine.

NB. Ivylee ships from Copenhagen which costs a little over £10

3 of the best…what to buy now

Speaking of summer, it really shows no signs of being over, but that doesn’t stop new season stock from arriving in stores on the high street. But it just feels wrong to buy anything for winter when you still can’t sleep at night because you feeling like you’re actually inside an oven. So what can you buy now if you need a new fix but don’t want to wait until the mercury drops to wear it? I would suggest the new ladylike mules that are popping up; with their barely there heel they just about scrape through into En Brogue territory and would be an ideal purchase for a wedding outfit, or to snazz up a pair of jeans. Plus, they’re backless, so you can team them with shorts and dresses now, but they’ll still be sturdy enough to wear well into autumn, too. Ideal.

That’s it for this week. August is always a quiet time in fashion, so there aren’t so many headlines to report on at the moment! But watch this space as I have an exciting competition coming up later in the week, plus lots of fun projects on the horizon that I can’t wait to tell you about.
