You’ll love this new budget shoe brand, and the rest of this week’s Shoes News

Another week, another peculiarly named brand well worth looking at

Last week I brought you news of Shoe The Bear; this week it’s Charles & Keith. No, that’s not a new line-up for popular ’90s duo Charles and Eddie (would I lie to you?!), but an accessories brand that has just launched in the UK. And it has an absolutely HUGE selection of brilliantly designed flats.

The pair I am wearing were a gift from the brand to try out (Charles & Keith pointed sling-back loafers, £39.99, – I wore them for a busy day of appointments earlier this week and they were really comfortable, with a nice squidgy insole for extra comfort. Oh, and they look amazing, right?! I had loads of compliments, and that’s always nice.

Charles & Keith white shoes, £39; Charles & Keith green contrast trim shoes, £39; Charles & Keith black and white shoes, £49; all

I’ve just shown a fraction of what’s available here, but I’m sure I will be featuring more in upcoming weeks. And as you can see, the prices are pretty incredible! Obviously you’re not getting real leather for this money, although that makes Charles & Keith a brilliant option for vegan footwear. The brand also does bags and other accessories.

NB: Charles & Keith ships from Singapore. It’s £10 for 1-2 items and free for 3 or more. As my shoes were a gift I don’t have any experience of how easy this process is! But their website’s shipping page has loads of info and is very transparent about where your purchase will be coming from. They’re launching officially in the UK next month which should make shipping a little more straightforward!

Sock addict? Here’s how to get a monthly fix to your door

Genevieve Sweeney

Genevieve Sweeney sock subscription, from £14 per month (

You guys know I love socks almost as  much as I love shoes, so I was thrilled to learn that lovely knitwear designer Genevieve Sweeney does a monthly socks subscription. Yep, that’s a new pair of fancy socks delivered to your door once a month (or two or three pairs, if your sock habit so requires). The package will be a surprise choice, and you have the added option of having you socks monogrammed for an extra £5.

There are three size options, so this is for men and women (yay!) and I think it would make a fantastic gift for someone. You can also pause your subscription by logging into your account online, if you are going on holiday or you fancy more/fewer pairs on any particular month (just like our new milk delivery!). I have some of Genevieve’s socks and they are really beautiful, constructed from luxe fabrics like wool linen and silk tweed, and I also love that they are all made in Britain in a family-run mill in Derbyshire.

Speaking of socks…

Tightology socks, from $18.95 (

Because the weather is such a tease! This time last week in the UK we were basking in balmy summer temperatures (and Grenson and I were out on my paddle board on the Isle of Wight) but now we’re definitely back to socks weather. Tightology is an Australian brand which makes all of its socks in either Australia or Italy. They haven’t quite launched in Europe yet – that’s coming soon – but I’ve had a sneaky peak and the designs are really nice! I’ve managed to get my hands on the dark green geometric print pair you see here and as well as being really snazzy, they’re super soft, too. You can already get free shipping to Europe if you spend over £35 while we wait for the official European launch. They also do really snazzy tights, hence the name!
