Shoe the Bear: unusual name, great shoes
I’ve been dying to tell you about this new brand, but when they got in touch months ago to offer me the chance to try out a pair of their shoes, I chose a pair of sandals. So hallelujah for the early heatwave, because it means I’ve actually had a chance to road test them properly and tell you all about them!
Anyway, meet Shoe The Bear – that’s not my new name for Grenson the dog, but the name of the new shoe brand! No, I don’t know either, but who cares when the shoes are this nice! I opted for some sandals in yellow and pickled ginger and wore them out on a day of appointments in the heatwave this week. I wouldn’t normally wear a new pair of shoes when I know I’m going to be doing a lot of walking, particularly in the heat, but these were perfect on the first wear. None of that cutting into your flesh that you sometimes get with new sandals, which is great because really, WHERE do you put the plasters when that happens?!
TOP: Shoe the Bear ‘Flora’ sandals in yellow, €119.95 (shoethebear.com); Ally sandals (available in 3 colours), €119.95; Floral sandals (available in 5 colours), €119.95; Juno loafers (available in 2 colours), €139.95; Louis slip-ons, €150 – all shoethebear.com
As you can see, they have lots of other sandals options, as well as some lovely loafers. Don’t be put off by the Euros – they ship throughout Europe. It would be great to hear what you think of this brand – leave comments below!

Kickslove’s first collaboration
Deptford’s ladies only sneaker store might have closed its physical doors a few weeks ago, but Kickslove is still alive and kicking. Yesterday, it released its first collaboration – the FILA Mindblower x Kickslove shoe. It’s so exciting to see this from a shop that I have keenly followed since its inception!
FILA Mindblower x Kickslove, £80 (kickslove.com)
There are only 45 pairs available, so they are VERY exclusive indeed. Get them before they’re gone! Kickslove will also be opening a new store in Greenwich in the future – I will keep you updated when I hear more.

3 of the best…double strap sandals under £50
While I am a big fan of Birkenstocks, I’ve had lots of messages over the years from people who say they love the look but they’re just too expensive. So I’ve found some alternatives for you that are under £50! I haven’t tried out this Fat Face pair for myself, but I have a pair of the Moses slides; they’re rubber, and are incredibly useful in the summer, particularly if, like me, you spend a lot of time at the beach. I also have two pairs of Oak & Hyde sandals and can really vouch for them when it comes to comfort, as well as the fact that the bright colours always get me lots of compliments!
