The London brand that’s absolutely nailed flats, and the rest of this week’s Shoes News

Why I’m totally in love with the new Miista collection

Miista Fernan Forest leather flats

If you’re not familiar with the brand Miista, prepare to fall in love. Because this London shoe brand has an absolutely cracking collection out for the new season. I’ll save the sandals for warmer climes (though they too are gorgeous!) and concentrate today on the fantastic mules and slip-ons it has on offer for spring. I’m always a big fan of a two-tone shoe, but how unusual is this colour combination? SO NICE!

Now, I know these aren’t particularly cheap (nor are they very expensive), but I do think it’s worth spending more money on a good pair of leather shoes to wear for special occasions. You can’t expect quality if you’re only willing to fork out twenty quid on the high street (you should also worry a little about how and who manufactured them!). Miista shoes, however, are really well made, not to mention that the design is excellent, so I think it’s worth saving up. People would happily spend far more than this on a pair of heels, so why not flats?

It’s also worth mentioning that Miista has a diffusion line called E8, which carries styles that are slightly cheaper (see that here). Now…the only question that remains is which pair are my favourites, and do this last pair have a small enough heel that I could get away with them?! Because HELLO! (Don’t worry, I know these are technically too high for En Brogue, but I just had to share for those of you who will entertain a 3.2cm heel because the colour combo is amazing!)

3 of the best…bum bags

1.Arket oversized bum bag, £69 (arket.com); 2. Mango suede belt bag, £39.99 (mango.com); COS belted pocket bag, £45 (cosstores.com)

“What’s this? Bum bags aren’t shoes!”, I hear you cry. But since so many of you made lovely comments about the bum bag I was wearing in En Brogue In Full earlier this week (you can read that here), I thought I would hunt out a few current ones. Incidentally, mine is old but from a lovely Turkish brand called Manu Atelier. They don’t currently do belt bags but you can see their gorgeous new season collection here.

Kickslove is closing (sob!)

Kickslove London

It is with a heavy heart that I bring you the news that Kickslove London, the brilliant female only sneaker store in SE London, is closing down. There is some good news attached to this though! The store will be relocating to new premises in Greenwich Market, AND it is currently having a massive closing down sale. Yay! So get yourself to Deptford Market Yard this weekend (where there is also a beer festival happening, and you can visit my favourite plant shop, Forest London while you are there) or go online and pick yourself up a bargain. Sending my best wishes to lovely Lisa, the store’s founder – I can’t wait to visit your next venture!
