SuperChung

Much like my opinion of Victoria Beckham, I have been very impressed with Alexa Chung’s designing skills since she launched her eponymous label last year (if you haven’t seen it, you can check it out here – the current season is inspired by Britpop, which I obviously approve of). So I was really excited to learn that her brand has collaborated with one of my favourites – Superga. The capsule collection launched on Thursday and I managed to get my hands on a pair this week. How nice?

The pair I am wearing are made from green satin, and come with a little pocket on the toe. No idea what that’s for, but I’m sure it will come in handy one day! There are also mules and mid-tops in the collection, in canvas and patent leather. The ALEXACHUNG branding appears on the tongue and the gum sole – it’s subtle, so a nice touch. And being Superga, they are obviously incredibly comfortable, as well as totally affordable.

3 of the best…high street sneakers

I’m not always a fan of high street sneakers, but if there’s one type that they do well, it’s a plain white tennis-style shoe. Plus I know a lot of you don’t like to fork out too much on white trainers, what with them being prone to getting grubby and everything, so the price is very agreeable too. I love the ribbon stripe down the heel of these Boden trainers – a little subtle nod to Gucci – and the gum sole on the Mango kicks is right up my street, too.

It’s funny how often Shoes News ends up being about nothing but trainers! And so it is this week, because your final story is a collaboration between Vans and the Danish outerwear brand, Rains (they make great rain coats!). Inspired by the industrial landscape in Copenhagen, the collection features shades of black, off-white and olive on classic styles. They went on sale yesterday and prices start at £65.
