Like Oybo socks? You’ll LOVE these boots from Dr Martens
Dr Martens x Engineered Works boots, price TBC (drmartens.com); Oybo socks, € 26.00 (oybo.it)
Launching today is the latest collaboration from Dr Martens and Engineered Works. I have one word. LOVE! Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know I am a massive fan of an Italian socks brand called Oybo, which makes slightly odd pairs of socks. The same idea has been applied to these boots, which have suede and leather swapped to opposite ends of each shoe. I didn’t actually notice at first, so they’re subtle enough to not look weird, but different enough to be very cool indeed. They come in four variations – the leather a suede I am wearing here, as well as leather and pebble, and both versions in cherry red and black. Obviously best paired with a pair of not-quite-matching socks.
NB: Dr Martens told me these were going on sale this morning but there is no sign of them yet! I will add in the price and link as soon as I see they are available.
This week I’m introducing a new thing in Shoes News, which is, simply put, cool stuff that I’ve spotted on Instagram. These are the things I am liking and commenting on, but aren’t necessarily available to buy. It might also introduce you to some cool new accounts! If you’ve seen anything you think I’d like on Instagram, please do tag me in it!
I love this account! It’s just pictures of people posing with book covers, but so that the book looks like a real part of the picture. And as you can see, someone posed with my book! I wouldn’t have known about it unless the kind person who tagged me in a comment had let me know. And now I know about @bookfacemagazine!
This lovely brand, founded by Brit Zoe Lee but based in the gorgeous Marais in Paris, is a great account to follow, not least because she has beautiful tiles in her shop! But these awesome cow print shoes caught my eye this week, in a shot taken from Please Magazine. Want the whole look!
Lol! I really like these Converse, a collaboration with super-cool label Off/White, but Sneakers Mag asked people what they thought and as you can see from the comments, they weren’t very popular! Oh well, each to their own. I suppose it would be a bit gross to see your feet inside, especially if you weren’t wearing any socks!
