Zoe Sherwood: G.H. Bass
Regular readers of this blog will know that G.H. Bass is one of those companies you can really trust to make a great pair of shoes. I have a pair of its classic penny loafers, otherwise known as Bass Weejuns, which the company actually invented well before they became known as penny loafers because of their handy ability to house a penny in the slot at the front of the shoe ( the “slot” was actually designed that way to look like a lipstick kiss).
Now G.H. Bass has teamed up with London artist Zoe Sherwood for a special collection of unique shoes. Zoe has deconstructed each pair, then reconstructed them and decorated them with her signature style of birds, words and embroidery. She is releasing one pair per week on her Instagram every Thursday (see the first pair above, shot by photographer Owen Harvey), and then the full collection is released on November 30th in G.H. Bass’s Beak Street store in London. If this first design is anything to go by, I reckon the rest are going to be beaut. For more information head to zoesherwood.co.
Three of the best…sweetie shop ankle boots
From top: pastel pink track sole ankle boots, £480, ACNE Studios at Matches (matchesfashion.com); mint green zipped leather ankle boots, £69.99 (zara.com); hot pink sateen pointed ankle boots, £39.99 (zara.com)
I’m not going to lie, I’ve been giving block heeled ankle boots the eye this season. Not because I’m hankering after wearing a heel again – OF COURSE NOT! – but just because there are so many fun colours out there at the moment, and they are a little harder to track down in a flat version. So, having done some tracking down, I thought I would share my finds with you. You’re welcome!
You’re too late for Erdem x H&M!
Erdem x H&M socks, £24.99 (hm.com)
I haven’t been in London this week, which means I missed the press preview to get my hands on some Erdem for H&M. “It’s OK!” I thought “I’ll just pick something up online!”. Guys, it’s too late. Even though there has been a limit to buying one item per person, it’s all gone. Well, all except this fantastic pair of socks, but they’re only available in big old men’s sizes. Still, I thought I’d point them out in case your feet are of the larger persuasion and you can enjoy them on my behalf.
