3 of the best: nanna shoes
Remember last year when literally all the fashion bloggers in your Instagram feed suddenly started wearing ‘nanna shoes’? For those not familiar, these were block heeled slip-on shoes, a little like ballet pumps but with a much higher vamp covering more of the foot, hence the name: they’re deliberately frumpy. I loved them but with a couple of inches on the heel they were too high for me. The good news is that they’re back, only this summer they’re completely flat! You can find them in black but I prefer more statement colours like the ones shown here. I have it on good authority from Alex from The Frugality that the white Mango ones are incredibly comfortable, and I just love that shade of green from COS. Just add twinset and bag of knitting (go on, I dare you!).
Maison Kitsune’s cute as hell sneakers
Canvas sneakers, €150.00, shop.kitsune.fr
French label Maison Kitsune isn’t somewhere I’d normally think to look for shoes, but they have some crackers for SS17. I’m particularly fond of the unisex sneakers, and especially the bi-colour style that comes in red/white and blue/white. They’re not currently stocked in the UK but you can buy online and they ship to the UK no problem.
Sunny shoes from Zoe Lee
Boots, £350, and sandals, £275, available soon at zoelee.co.uk
While we’re on the subject of France, let me draw your attention to Zoe Lee Shoes – this is a UK brand but its designer, Zoe, is based in Paris where she has a gorgeous shop complete with the AMAZING floor tiles you can see in this shot. I keep meaning to visit during Paris fashion week for a shoefie (Zoe, I WILL get around to this!). All of her shoes are handmade in Italy and are beautiful quality, and these new season yellow numbers hit store and the website this week. Aren’t they stunners?
