Converse and Vans go monochrome, and the rest of this week’s Shoes News

Some weeks the shoes news is a little thin on the ground – that’s just the way it goes with my niche subject matter! – but this week I have two stories from one brand alone. A bumper issue! Long may it last…

All the Converse new releases

Today (Feb 17th) sees the launch of the Converse Chuck Modern Luxe collection, which is SERIOUSLY cool. The all-black or all-white leather high tops have lovely details like minimal eyelet-free lace holes and an embossed star motif on the ankle. They’re so brand new that they’re not even available to buy online yet, though I have been assured that they land today and will cost around £110. I will update this post when I have more news!

In the meantime, let me point out another newish release from Converse, which is the Embroidered Dots collection. (If you’re a fan of monochrome by the way, this week’s news is right up your street!) These are also leather – great news if you find the classic canvas a little high maintenance – and I love the dotty design. They are £85 for the high tops and £80 for the lows and the One Stars (my favourites!) from

Vans Denim Pack

Old Skool, £60,

Don’t be fooled by the name; these aren’t denim Vans. I’m treating you to more black and white leather! Although they do have a touch of denim in the lining. These Old Skools were released yesterday to celebrate the start of fashion week as part of the Denim Pack, which also includes apparel.

En Brogue ranked 20 in the top 50 shoe blogs ON THE PLANET!

Well this is rather exciting. The lovely people at Feedspot got in touch to say that this little blog has made it to number 20 in a list of the top footwear blogs in the world. YAY! I didn’t even know I was in the running, TBH. Anyway, it’s thrilling, and you can see the full list here.

And finally…

Don’t forget that you still have time to enter my competition to win a pair of shoes from Seven Boot Lane. You can find all the details here. The closing date is Sunday so HURRY HURRY!
