It’s suddenly got rather chilly, and when the temperature drops this far I inevitably start thinking about ankle boots. A lot.
When there’s a festive chill in the air, your socks don’t always cut it in terms of keeping warm and toasty. But if you’ve grown fond of my old favourite styling tip – turning up your jeans – ankle boots are the ideal footwear to swap to. As it’s nearly Christmas, I’m guessing a lot of you will be after something more exciting than a plain black Chelsea boot (not that there’s anything wrong with a plain black Chelsea boot obvs, but you know, PARTY SEASON!). Something with a bit of a rock ‘n’ roll edge. Something….well, cool.

I’ve been meaning to write this for a while, and so after a request on Twitter, I’ve rounded up the best flat ankle boots around at the moment. These are all more special than your average, everyday ankle boot – say hello to metallic finishes and plenty of stars – but they’re comfy enough to wear every day if you fancy making your casual look at bit more snazzy. They’d also all look great teamed with a printed dress or skirt for a bit of a Californian hippy vibe. There are lace-ups, buckles and zips as well as the most party-worthy pair of trainers I think I’ve ever seen (see top), so something for everyone. You’re welcome!
